The short-range order in liquid water and amorphous ice

چکیده

The short-range order in water and ice was determined from experimentally measured partial radial distribution functions by applying the Quasi Crystalline Model (QCM). Partial were analyzed for at several pressures temperatures, crystalline ice, three known phases of amorphous ice: Low-Density Amorphous (LDA), High-Density (HDA), Very-High-Density (VHDA). It found that low temperatures pressures, is similar to hexagonal (Ih) structure. At higher becomes tetragonal III structures with a c/a ratio 0.8. 573 K, obtained rhombohedral II (α = 113°). As ices, we conclude QCM analysis these forms are structurally distinct orders corresponding Ih, III, LDA, HDA, VHDA respectively.

Short-range order of compressed amorphous GeSe2

The structure of amorphous GeSe2 (a-GeSe2) has been studied by means of a combination of two-edges X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and angle-dispersive X-ray diffraction under pressures up to about 30 GPa. Multiple-edge XAS data-analysis of a-GeSe2 at ambient conditions allowed us to reconstruct and compare the first-neighbor distribution function with previous results obtained by neutron d...

SHORT RANGE ORDER IN ANNEALED FexSi1-x AMORPHOUS FILMS

Magnetic properties of as-prepared (sputtered) and annealed Fe,Sil-, (0.64 5 x 5 0.78) amorphous films deposited at room temperature, are interpreted in terms of chemical short-range order and compared with evaporated films deposited at 77 K. Low temperature ( 5 30 K) magnetization behaviour follows; M (T) / M (0) = 1 B T ~ / ~ c T ~ / ~ 2 with B = 1.5 x K ~ / ~ ; C = -2.610 x ~ K ~ / ~ . Relat...

CHEMICAL SHORT RANGE ORDER IN Fe20Ni60B20 AMORPHOUS ALLOY

We have seen, by Mossbauer spectroscopy, magnetization and resistivity, changes on the physical properties of the aFe20Ni6oB20 alloy induced by thermal relaxation, notedly increases in T, and resistivity. These changes can be explained by modifications of the chemical short range order around Fe favouring the formation of Fe-Ni pairs.

Short-Range Smectic Order in Bent-Core Nematic Liquid Crystals

Small angle X-ray diffraction from the uniaxial nematic phase of certain bent-core liquid crystals is shown to be consistent with the presence of molecular clusters possessing short-range tilted smectic (smectic-C) order. Persistence of these clusters throughout the nematic phase, and even into the isotropic state, likely accounts for the unusual macroscopic behavior previously reported in bent...
